Melissa Meier “LACED” A doily is an ornamental mat of lace that is laid under crockery and decorative objects in order to protect the fine wood from scratches. Its openwork allows the surface of the underlying object to show through. In my art I have chosen vintage doily patterns and have superimposed them on the faces of female subjects.

L.A. Film Festival
In 2009 and 2010, Gloria Delson Contemporary Arts was invited by Zone Perfect (sponsor of the Los Angeles Film Festival) to exhibit our artists in the Zone Perfect "Live.Work.Create" Lounge.

In the months following the 2010 Los Angeles Film Festival, Zone Perfect became sponsor of the Downtown Artwalk, and selected their profiled Artist of the Month from the Gloria Delson Contemporary Arts artist roster.

DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES — It's that time of the month again. The Downtown Art Walk returns on Thursday, May 13, and a look at what's going on makes it easy to see the event's growing footprint.

Last month's Art Mart added life at 2nd and Main, and the Art Walk crowds now stretch far past 5th and Main to new galleries like Gloria Delson Contemporary Arts on Spring at 6th and old staples like The Hive below 7th.

DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES — The March Art Walk continued the trend of a bifurcated event, with the party crowd showing up even later in the evening. That made it easier to look at galleries and art early, before the younger crowd shows up for the mixed-use spaces armed with DJs and retail.
Joining me were two creative professionals who came Downtown as kids to shop with family, well before Gallery Row was founded.
