Artist Statement
My goal is not to create anything speciÞc in the beginning, but rather to unleash the intense desire to create with beautiful colors and varied shapes to encourage and evoke meaningful elements of thought. I am most interested in using various mediums and gels to build many layers and textures of color. While this process continues, countless ideas are guiding me and easily trusting my intuition to lead the way, eager to see what will happen next. What follows is a mystical journey that's guided by an artistic alchemy of curiosity, intuition, discipline, and spontaneity. The end result is a vibrant abstract image, dripping with color and emotion. The road to my development as an artist began in the Hill Country of Texas where I grew up. It has taken me from Stephens College in Columbia, MO, to The Art Institute of Houston in Texas and San Miguel de Allende in Mexico, to my current home in Los Angeles, CA. I'm pleased to note that my award-winning paintings have been purchased by collectors throughout the United States and Latin America. Commissions are most welcome.
